Sexual Assault Support Group Facilitator
Sexual Assault group facilitators work in locations throughout the community to support, educate and advocate for survivors of sexual assault. Our program allows members to learn from each other and share in each other’s journey towards healing. NON-therapist facilitators lead weekly support groups for those who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, sexual assault. Groups are held in the afternoon and evenings in various locations throughout Indianapolis. Groups cover a variety of topics aimed at empowerment and support for survivors. Group topics and supporting materials are provided for you by the volunteer coordinator.
NO EXPERIENCE FOR THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED.
Training is provided. We ask that all potential volunteers are ready to learn, listen and practice empathy. It is not required that a facilitator be a survivor of sexual assault. Contact Betsy Hall for program specific information, Betsyh@familiesfirstindiana.org or 317-689-8919.
Bilingual volunteers are greatly needed.
