Sexual Assault Response Volunteers
Assist survivors of sexual assault with immediate crisis support services at local hospitals. Services may include: safety planning, support and education regarding the sexual assault forensic exam, connection to resources, and education on rights related to reporting sexual assault to law enforcement. Volunteers take 4 on call shifts a month.
NO EXPERIENCE FOR THIS POSITION IS REQUIRED.
Training is provided. We ask that all potential volunteers are ready to learn, listen and practice empathy. It is not required that a facilitator be a survivor of sexual assault. We ask that volunteers agree to a 6-month time commitment. Further details regarding time commitment and training requirements can be obtained by contacting Betsy Hall at Betsyh@familiesfirstindiana.org.
