I know I need help, but I’m afraid to seek services

We recognize that it's not always easy to ask for help or to even admit that you need it. We'll treat you with respect, a non-judgmental attitude, and will do our best to put you at ease. Our philosophy is that all individuals and families have strengths, and that no one sets out to fail as parents, spouses or in other aspects of family life. We take your rights seriously, including your right to privacy and confidentiality.

Do you take Medicaid or any health insurance plans?

We accept Medicaid, and many other health insurance plans. When you call to make an initial appointment, our Intake Counselor can help determine if your insurance is accepted and whether you would have a co-pay.

What if I can’t afford services ?

We believe that everyone deserves access to quality support services and programs. At CB + FF, we do our best to make resources affordable for people of all income levels. We offer a sliding fee for all of our services and programs. Charges are based on household income and the number of persons in the family.

Where can I park my car while receiving services at the Families First location?

Our main parking (including accessible spots) is on the entrance (south-facing) side of the building. We also have a large overflow parking lot behind the building, across the alley, to the west. This lot is also accessible from Illinois Street. There is also parallel parking along Meridian Street.

I don’t have a vehicle. Is the Families First building on a bus line?

Yes. We are located at 2240 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. There is an IndyGo bus stop located at 22nd and Meridian, less than a minute away.

Can I bring my kids when I come for services?

Please keep in mind that if you will be coming for family counseling, your kids may be involved in sessions. In some cases, children may be seen alone, by a therapist who specializes in play therapy.

When parents or family members are being seen for adult concerns that are not appropriate for children to hear about, we may ask that you not bring your children with you.

Can I get help through more than one of your programs?

Yes, some individuals and families benefit from more than one of our programs.

Do your therapists prescribe medications?

No, we do not prescribe medications for clients. However, medical referrals for prescription evaluation are made if and when a therapist thinks it is necessary.
