We have some exciting news to share.
Because of your support for us and our mission, we wanted you to be among the first to know that Children’s Bureau and Families First, two long-established Indiana nonprofits who share a rich history, are planning to merge as one organization to better serve children, youth, adults and families.
Too often, communities lack the resources and coordination to adequately address families’ needs as a whole. That’s why this merger is such great news for Indiana families.
Though we are still in the integration planning stage, the boards of both organizations have signed a nonbinding letter of intent to proceed with a merger and fully anticipate the combined organization to be created in early 2021. Combining our resources and expertise will allow us to offer a more holistic approach to child abuse prevention, family preservation and recovery services. We’ll be better able to coordinate and deliver services that consider the whole person—not just a set of concerns.
As one organization, our passion for supporting children and families will remain the same. And with complementary services and more efficiency, our impact will be amplified, and we will be in a position to:
• Advance our efforts to prevent child abuse by supporting and empowering families so they can sustain self-sufficiency and stability.
• Accelerate our ability to preserve families who easily become overwhelmed and discouraged by a multitude of service providers—housing more of the expertise and re-sources families need to stay together.
• Expand our ability to provide recovery for families and individuals who are struggling with addiction, mental health, domestic violence and sexual assault.
As a result of this change, we know that Children’s Bureau and Families First will have an even greater impact. And we’re excited to get to work…as one agency…for Indiana families.
